How I Evolved From Carefree To Conscientious About My Skincare Routine

Skincare. It’s very important for most women and they do not even know it. Over the past ten years, my skincare routine went from carefree, effortless and minimal,to tedious, (scheduled), and conscientious. My makeup routine? It honestly did not exist. Ilook back and laugh sometimes about how Iwent from wearing NOTH ING, to being totally and utterly in love with cosmetics. Change is good.

When I was in my teens, I was hormonal. Pimples near and far. I couldn’t catch a break and you know
what I used to use to clean my face? Rubbing alcohol. And when I was not using rubbing alcohol,I was using hydrogen peroxide. Drying out my skin,thus causing more damage.
By the time Iturned 21 and got married, my hormones took a nose dive, and my skinwas in much
better condition. I was still not taking proper care of my skin,and it took my husband purchasing a Clinique skincare set for me to consider caring about my skin.
It was not until Iturned about 24 and got into cosmetics that Irealized you can not have one without
the other. It is a personal pet peeve of mine when women wear cosmetics on skin that is in poor condition.You can not put foundation of top of bumpy,porous skin.You have to wash your makeup off at night. In order to have the best looking makeup, you have to have the best looking skin.

This is the time that I went from washing my face with bar soap, to using face washes and face cream
to moisturize. Eye creams to take care of the bags under my eyes. My skinwas bright, dewy,and moisturized.
Now that Iam pushing 30, my skin is trying to go back downhill.After having five children,my hormones have made an attempt to destroy my face. My face is clear literally one week out of the month.I’ve went back to oil cleansing my face for deep cleaning and moisture. Iwear a night cream now,to give my face even more moisture.
