The Social Media Communications Coordinator will play a key role in the day-to-day and long-term social media efforts for the Pac-12 Conference and Pac-12 Networks. The right person for this role will be a driven, skilled social media omnivore with a proven track record of curating and creating engaging content on behalf of brands and executing social media strategies. Experience with constructing and executing social media content plans surrounding events & games coverage, as well as executing sponsorship campaigns, are a plus. This position is based in San Francisco but also open to fully remote employees in the states of California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah. Responsibilities:
Curate, moderate, and create content for multiple Pac-12 owned and operated social media channels simultaneously
Spur engagement surrounding all Pac-12 live games and studio programming on and other events that drive viewership and fan engagement
Execute against content plans with sales and partnership social campaigns
Assist with editorial calendar oversight, ensuring no moment, date or special events is missed across the Pac-12 and its 12 athletics departments
Identify trends and opportunities for engagement relevant to the Pac-12 brand and voice, assisting with the creative process and brainstorming
Ability to analyze and report social analytics
Listen to fans across multiple platforms, and provide customer care
Execute live broadcasts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube
Other tasks as assigned by the Social Media Communications Manager
Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
A minimum of two years of professional work experience, with at least one year in a role that included managing the social voice for a team, company or brand
Self-starter requiring little oversight while maintaining excellent attention to detail
BA or BS degree in journalism, communication or another related field
Deep understanding of all social media platforms, primarily Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and live streaming video software and platforms.
Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Premiere
Proven ability to generate content that resonates socially
Strong grammar, spelling, punctuation, and AP style
Deep knowledge of Pac-12 sports and teams
Willingness to work hours as dictated by sports and the social media news cycle, including evenings and weekend
