SCOPE:

The Travel Chaperone is responsible for the line of sight supervision of children during transportation for medical appointments, facility transfers, and national travel at an on-site children’s residential facility. This position is responsible for ensuring safe and secure transportation of minors. They ensure contractual requirements and client expectations are met at the on-site residential facility. Reports to the assigned Lead Case Manager.

All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which CHS is recognized.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist during transition and movement of children from one activity to the next and one physical location to another. Including during domestic flights.
Keeps regular communication with the facility and assigned supervisor during transportation.
While travelling escort may incur out-of-pocket expenses. These expenses will be reimburse by the company as long as proper documentation is presented (receipt and expense report).
Travel Chaperone will be required to provide documentation of all duties performed while on shift.
Completes all required documentation pertaining to this position in a timely manner, this may include daily reports, shift briefings, and management updates.
Responsible for adhering to all CHSi, ORR, & other applicable regulations.

PREFERRED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Experience working with special needs children

 

OTHER DUTIES:

Performs duties in a safe manner.
Follows all corporate safety policies.
Ensures the safety and security of all UAC and safe operating conditions within area of responsibility.
Participates and supports safety meetings, training and goals.
Assists in active implementation of company initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA VPP, ISO, JCAHO, AAAHC, and other mandated regulations/standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bilingual – Fluent in Spanish and English
Available to work full time with multiple Shifts, including weekends
At least 21 years old
Valid U.S. driver’s license
High School Diploma or equivalent
Clean criminal background check
Clean child abuse and neglect or child protective services check (CA/N)
Able to navigate an airport environment, coordinate with airline customer service if required and familiar with TSA screening requirements
Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills
Proficiency with computer, common office equipment, and MS Office products

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to ascend/descend stairs
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Able to withstand and manipulate through construction areas, sports fields, etc.
Able to communicate verbally and listen for constant surveillance of staff activities
Able to withstand changing environmental conditions with weather (rain, lightning, and winds)
Ability to stand or sit for sustained periods of time
